Hillary's Adventures in A Real World

Hillary, the main character, uncovers stories of small businesses around Las Vegas, NV in order to help promote them. Her first story gives a glimpse of Freed's Bakery of Las Vegas, a tasty shop which delivers elaborate and amazing cake designs. Her promo definitely persuaded me to check the place out and sample some of the crazy cakes they design, including one which looks like real a stack of Pepsi cases. You might be thinking how Pepsi cases can even remotely be involved in cake design... However, my impression from this short vid shows that Freed's Bakery can do anything within imagination! I am temped to see the cake which was a battleground for Transformers they mention... Auto-bots unite!
Hillary brings a lively, free-spirited personality to each of her visits, which draws the interest of the viewer. Can't wait to check out future episodes.

Sign for 2 Fifteen clothing store.

An outdoor 7' x 8' sign I designed for 2 Fifteen clothing store, which was one of my first takes in commission work. My design captured the store owner's roots, as he hailed from Philadelphia. Use of 2 Fifteen metaphors can be seen throughout this piece, within the clock, woman's fitted cap, as well as the watch on the man. It was intended as the shops name is a metaphor in itself, regarding the area code of Philadelphia (215)! I had two friends model a pose in order to capture the essence of hanging out in the urban setting. Most importantly, this design captured the sense of style the owner wanted to promote to the community. With a big city fashion sense for a small town community, 2 Fifteen is the place to check out in La Crosse, WI!

Starting off the blog fresh.
Welcome to the World of Carmello, a site which boasts traveling/creativity through design. My passion is creating designs which demonstrate the personality/creative side of the beholder! With an Anthony Bourdain inspiration for travel, learning languages and meeting people everywhere I might end up, is the true motive behind my work. That passion also helped jump start my motive for doing freelance graphic design for a few clients so far. Currently based in Las Vegas, and soon off to live in Japan for a year, I look for design on any medium whether it may be magazines, billboards, walls, signs and so forth. I love designing, so if your interested I would love to design for you.
I'm still working on the whole design process for this site currently, so definitely more to come! Stay tuned!
